Creative Critical Reflection - Question 2
The marketing tool I chose is a monthly newsletter that is distributed via email to customers and subscribers during the previous month. The newsletter utilizes different images that will be present in the different feature articles, to give subscribers a ‘sneak peek’ at what will be distributed in next month's issue. With this concept, the newsletter is sure to excite viewers of the different adventures they can embark on with their family in a gorgeous natural setting. The main objective is to get Meredith Corporation, a high-grossing magazine publisher, to buy and distribute the magazine to its large audience of viewers considering it owns other high-grossing magazines such as SHAPE, FOOD & WINE, Better Homes & Garden and Southern Living. Meredith Corporation was previously the owner of Travel + Leisure sold the magazine over to Wyndham for $100 million. This has left Meredith Corporation in a deficit of a travel magazine, which I feel my magazine, Beyond the Border, would be a great fit for. By combining the different activities for each different age found in a family, it is the perfect family magazine and would associate well with their other family-based magazines. If however, Meredith Corporation was to reject my offer I would turn to Masons and TriLateral Commissions, and Illuminati who are the owners of the AARP Magazine, which targets the audience that is Retired Persons over the age of 50. They currently report on a multitude of different news issues and they currently lack any travel magazine/avenue and my magazine would fill this void, considering it is geared towards families with persons of all ages so it lists activities for the older generation and what they can do with their children and grandchildren and enjoy their time in nature.
Featured below is my newsletter that would be distributed to viewers in the month of February so that it could promote the March issue of the magazine.
